Surau FC, the 2022 champions and last year’s grand finalists, started their 2025 campaign in confident fashion with a comeback win over Nusantara United FC.

After a tight opening half, Osman Hussein put Nusantara ahead in the 55th minute with a tidy finish. The lead lasted barely sixty seconds as Mustafa Kardoli levelled almost immediately, shifting momentum firmly toward Surau. Omer Gebril then took control, scoring twice to seal the result and underline Surau’s intent to reclaim the title they last won three years ago.

PS Kota Sydney dominate with six-goal performance

PS Kota Sydney 6 – 0 AIDA Sydney FC
Goals: PS Kota 13’, 20’, 56’, 64’; Noah Ravel 22’; Spyridon Konidaris 78’; Shayden Sampow 78’

PS Kota Sydney, continuing the proud Pasundan football tradition, announced themselves with authority in their INDOLEAGUE debut, defeating 2023 premiers AIDA Sydney FC by six goals to nil.

From kickoff, PS Kota dictated the tempo with quick passing and relentless forward runs. Noah Ravel was a constant threat, capping his performance with a composed finish. Spyridon Konidaris and Shayden Sampow added late goals as the team rounded off a commanding display that firmly placed them among the early favourites for this year’s title.

IQRO FC make a confident start against Komo FC

IQRO FC 4 – 1 Komo FC
Goals: Dzulfikar Pasaribu 6’; Ahmad Elhelou 13’, 21’; Ayman Dennaoui 17’ (IQRO); Abbas Reda 3’ (KOMO)

The 2023 champions IQRO FC opened their 2025 season with a strong 4-1 win over newcomers Komo FC.

Komo FC took a surprise early lead when Abbas Reda scored in the third minute, but IQRO responded with composure. Dzulfikar Pasaribu equalised before Ahmad Elhelou and Ayman Dennaoui struck in quick succession to turn the game on its head. Elhelou added a fourth shortly after the restart to secure all three points.

It was a composed and efficient performance that showed IQRO remain one of the most consistent and dangerous sides in the competition.

Batavia SC celebrate their return in style

Batavia SC 3 – 1 PAFC
Goals: Bradley Sibanda 38’ (pen); Miftahulhaq Mahfudz 40’ (first half); Arip Hakim 43’ (second half) (BAT); Ihsan Natakusuma 60’ (PAFC)

Batavia SC’s long-awaited return to INDOLEAGUE football began with a hard-earned 3-1 victory over PAFC.

PAFC started brightly, pressing high and controlling much of the first 20 minutes while creating several good opportunities that tested Batavia’s backline. The momentum shifted late in the half when Bradley Sibanda was brought down in the box after a strong run and converted the resulting penalty himself to give Batavia the lead. Moments later, Miftahulhaq Mahfudz doubled the advantage with a close-range finish just before the break.

Early in the second half, Arip Hakim added a third goal to put Batavia firmly in control. PAFC’s Ihsan Natakusuma pulled one back midway through the half, but Batavia managed the game well to secure all three points and complete a winning return to the competition.

Week 1 of INDOLEAGUE 2025 had everything supporters could ask for: goals, intensity, and strong individual performances. Surau FC and IQRO FC looked sharp, PS Kota Sydney made a huge opening-day statement, and Batavia SC proved their return is more than symbolic with a clinical comeback win after early pressure.

With the new season now in full swing, the tone is set for another exciting chapter of Indonesian-Australian football. The rivalries are back, the stands are full, and the passion is as strong as ever.
