The INDOLEAGUE 2024 Awards Night was a grand celebration of the vibrant Indonesian football community in Australia. Held with much fanfare, the event recognized the achievements of players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, and officials who contributed to making the league a success.
Opening and Speeches
The evening began at 7:00 PM with a warm welcome from the evening’s MC, Ozzi Fauzy, setting the tone for the celebrations. Representing the Indonesian Consulate, Mr. Theophillus F. Waluyo, from the Consulate General of Indonesia for NSW, QLD & SA, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of the league in strengthening the Indonesian-Australian community. This was followed by an inspiring address from AIFC President Alex Handrian, who highlighted the league’s growth and its positive impact on young players.
Honoring Volunteers and Coaches
The night paid tribute to the hardworking volunteers who made the league possible. Individuals such as Izzuddin Kurdi, Naufal Aldrianzah, Bunaya Decky, and Ghalib Ismail were awarded framed certificates for their dedication to matchday operations. Media volunteers Clara Athifa and Jaidika Kairua were also recognized for their creative contributions in player interviews, photography, and news coverage.
Coaches from the Junior Coaching Clinic, led by Raoel Yakub, received medals and framed certificates. Their Week 9 efforts in mentoring over 30 young players were praised by parents and participants alike.
Acknowledging Sponsors
Sponsors played a crucial role in the league’s success. The Human Initiative Australia team, represented by Ust. Arif Taufiq, was honored as the Major Sponsor for the third consecutive year. Silver and Bronze Sponsors, including Intrinsic Motion Physiotherapy and Pilates, JI Prestige, and Top Quality Electrics, were also acknowledged with plaques and certificates for their invaluable support.
Referees Association Recognition
The INDOLEAGUE Referees Association, featuring dedicated referees like Louie Stavropoulos and team, was celebrated for their professionalism and integrity throughout the season. They received medals and a shared wooden plaque in appreciation of their efforts.
Awards for Teams and Players
The evening culminated in the announcement of team and player awards:
- Third Place: IQRO FC, last year’s champions, secured a respectable finish, with Assistant Coach Izzuddin Kurdi accepting the trophy.
- Runner-Up & Premiers: Surau FC earned the Runner-Up and Premiers trophies, showcasing their skill and teamwork as the youngest team in the competition.
- Champions: Minang Saiyo Tigers FC, undefeated champions of INDOLEAGUE 2024, were recognized for their thrilling comeback victory in the Grand Final under Coach Tauhid Gusmardy.
Special Awards
- AIFC Fair Play Award: Awarded to PAFC for their exemplary sportsmanship and discipline.
- Coach of the Season (Bertje Matulapelwa Award): Tauhid Gusmardy, for his leadership of MSTFC’s undefeated campaign.
- Young Player of the Season (Bambang Pamungkas Award): Eizar Jacob Tanjung, celebrated for his creativity and pivotal role in MSTFC’s Grand Final victory.
- Top Goal Scorer (Soetjipto Soentoro Award): Noah Juma Ravel, for his 12-goal tally, including two hat tricks.
