Indoleague Matchweek 3 Review

Matchweek 3 brought forth a series of intriguing fixtures and a highly anticipated Minang Derby showdown. Here’s a recap of the weekend’s action:


AS-SHABAB VS AL-ACEH FC :

On Sunday, October 8th, the weekend kicked off with a clash between As-Shabab FC and Al-Aceh FC, two teams eager to claim their first points and victory this season. It was a battle of hunger and determination, resulting in a 5-1 victory for Al-Aceh FC. With Keenan bagging his hatrick,  Ravi and Omar also got on the score sheet. This win lifts them to 6th place on the table. Notably, As-Shabab showcased promising young talent, hinting at an improved performance compared to previous games.


NUSANTARA UNITED FC VS IQRO FC :

In the second game of the day, Iqro FC, riding high on their stunning performance from the previous week, secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Nusantara. Avisai’s brace and Jaffar’s goal proved instrumental in their win. Nusantara United FC, although yet to taste victory this season, displayed determination and a hunger to break into the top 4. To keep their Indoleague hopes alive, they must start winning in the coming matches.


AIDA SYDNEY VS PERANTAU FC :

AIDA Sydney continued their impressive run with a 3-0 victory over Perantau FC. Thanks to Evant’s brace and a goal by Ahyarulloh. The match showcased AIDA’s ability to consistently find the back of the net, maintaining a Goal Difference of +11, the highest in the league as well as staying undefeated. Perantau FC now sits in 5th place.


SURAU FC VS MINANG SAIYO TIGERS FC :

The last game of the day was the first official Minang Derby, putting defending champions Surau FC against legendary team Minang Saiyo Tigers FC. The lead-up to this fixture was filled with anticipation and rivalry, as both teams were at the top of the table. In a tense and thrilling encounter, the first half ended goalless. Ronald managed to break the deadlock for MSTFC late in the second half, only for Surau FC to level the score just five minutes later. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Both teams remain undefeated, but AIDA Sydney has claimed the top spot due to their superior goal difference.
